Nature Ascending - Lawrence Reed

When we use the phrase "the end of the world" we often mean the end of mankind. Nature has been very forgiving. I feel that there is some kind of tacit pact that it has extended. But it will take so only much and will lose patience with us.

Nature Ascending

The makeshift pact is over.

Nature has reclaimed her own.

Slowly, slowly taking charge,

plants grow where none were sown.

Nature fights. Nature mends.

Arcane rites. Nature ascends.

Ivy cracks the graveyard stones,

roots and worms invade the bones.

Those below feel no pain

as nature feeds off of man’s remains.

Nature rises. Nature mends.

Humans fall. Nature ascends.

This makeshift pact that nature extended

is going on longer than nature intended.

We’ve ploughed the fields and drunk the wine,

chopped down forests, crossed the line.

Revenge is coming, see the signs.

One thing we don’t have is time.

Nature fights. Nature mends.

Arcane rites. Nature ascends.

Nature rises. Nature mends.

Humans fall. Nature ascends.
